St. Vincent Hospital Board Selects New CEO
After an extensive search the St. Vincent Hospital Board of Directors has named a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
CEO Daniel ReinerThe successful candidate, Daniel Reiner, interviewed for the position in late 2012 and will fill the seat currently held by interim CEO, Rhonda Duncan, on January 16.
Duncan will assist during a period of transition which is planned to provide a continuum of leadership around the hospital Board’s six strategic priorities for 2013 and beyond. These priorities include Workforce Engagement, Quality, Business Growth, Community, Future, and Structure/Infrastructure.
“I felt he (Reiner) has exciting ideas for bringing new services to the hospital and the energy to achieve them.” said Nancy Boeve Hospital Board Chairperson. “He did a lot of pre-interview research on the hospital and the community and I feel that he will hit the ground running.”
Reiner is a senior healthcare executive whose leadership experience includes rural healthcare, governance and special districts, medical network management, surgical and clinical line development, acute care facilities and multi-specialty clinics. He holds a Masters in Healthcare Administration, and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Reiner has served as CEO of Community Health Care Center of Central Wyoming, Casper and Chief Administrative Officer of Benefis Health System in Great Falls, Mont.
“I grew up in a rural community similar in size to Leadville and over one third of my career has been in facilities similar to St. Vincent Hospital.” said Reiner. “I am excited to put my thirty years of clinic and hospital management experience to work in Lake County.”
Reiner also feels at home in the mountains. Chairperson Boeve relayed that, “he had other opportunities but Leadville was his first choice.”
