Nine Years Strong: CMC Rail Jam!
Nine Years? Has it already been nearly nine years since the very first CMC Rail Jam? It might be hard to believe, but this Saturday will mark the 9th annual CMC Rail Jam on Dutch Henri Hill, put on by students in the Ski Area Operation- Events Management class. And while the sporting component steals the spotlight, there’s so much more to this event. The entire show is put on by Colorado Mountain College’s Ski Area Operations program students, 95 percent of whom land jobs at ski areas after graduation. Students in the snowmaking class make the snow; students in the grooming class sculpt it into perfect corduroy and jumps; and students in the event management class promote and run the event.
The Rail Jam events kick off at High Noon, with open practice from 10-11:30 AM. You can watch men’s and women’s snowboarding and enjoy great music and food on the sidelines. A great way to spend a day in Leadville!
