Veterans Honored During Lake County Services
Members of the Leadville Elks Lodge #236 lay a wreath at the Lake County Veterans Memorial at yesterday’s Memorial Day Services. It was a very moving service under blue skies with good attendance. Governor to appoint new district court judge
The Fifth Judicial District Nominating Commission has nominated three candidates for a district court judgeship created pursuant to House Bill 13-1035, effective July 1, 2013.
Nominees Paul Dunkelman of Silverthorne, Courtney Holm of Edwards and Dewey (Wayne) Patton of Leadville were selected by the commission on May 20, 2013.
Under the Colorado Constitution, the governor has 15 days from May 21, 2013, within which to appoint one of the nominees as district court judge for the Fifth Judicial District (Clear Creek, Eagle, Lake and Summit counties).

Fire Department Celebrates 131 Years of Service!
The Leadville/Lake County Fire Rescue celebrated 131 years of service to the community with an open house on May 21. The department showcased the three new vehicles recently added to their fleet, and gave an interesting account of the Fire Department’s history. There was cake for all and the kids got to climb up into the big fire truck and slide down the fire pole. So thanks to the Leadville/Lake County Fire Rescue for a great community-unity event AND for all you do to keep everyone save!
