Local Health Care Enrollment and Help this Friday
There will be a free health care forum regarding the Affordable Care Act this Friday, October 18 at the Mining Museum (E. 10th Street entrance) from noon until 8 p.m. The afternoon/evening forum will include presentations entitled “10 Essential Health Benefits” and “What is the new insurance marketplace?” by Bea Green HUB Coordinator with Connect for Health. These discussions are scheduled at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Also included in the afternoon’s presentation will be Claire Chadwell-Bell, the Regional Clinical Care Director for Integrated Community Health Partners (ICHP). She will present at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. about ICHP and how it integrates with the healthcare needs of the region. All presenters will be in the auditorium just off the ballroom.
Coverage Guides Brokers will be available in the ballroom to assist with onsite enrollment and frequently asked questions. If you plan on enrolling on Friday, you will need to come prepared with the proper information and identification: ACCOUNT INFO NEEDED: LINK.
Attendees will have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with: Lake & Chaffee County Certified Health Coverage Guides, Certified Brokers/Agents, Lake County Public Health Nurses, Oral Health Educator, and Family Health Coordinators.

CLUB 20 Meetings in Leadville TODAY!
Today, CLUB 20 will conduct its Lake County caucus meeting and a one hour informational meeting for businesses, residents and municipalities to discuss current CLUB 20 efforts. This will be a good opportunity for people to learn how they can lend their voice to discussions regarding issues that impact Western Colorado communities.
The CLUB 20 informational community meeting in Leadville will be TODAY, Oct. 15 from 10 – 11 a.m. at Colorado Mountain College, Climax Building, Room 403. This meeting is open to the public. After the informational meeting, the CLUB 20 Lake County Caucus Meeting will be held at Noon in the Commisisoner’s Room at the Lake County Courthouse. This meeting is for CLUB 20 members. CLUB 20 is a non-partisan advocacy group with business, individual and local government members from 22 counties in Western Colorado. Members come together in an effort to help shape policies that impact West Slope residents. CLUB 20 works to encourage positions that positively promote Western Colorado and has been known as “The Voice of the West Slope,” since 1953. Ten policy committees work to develop positions on issues of common concern like, Agriculture, Business Affairs, Energy, Education & Workforce Development, Telecommunications, Transportation, Public Lands and Natural Resources, Water and Healthcare. And to advocate for solutions that support jobs, families, businesses and communities in the region.
From collaborating with organizations in an effort to identify a new funding source for highway maintenance to helping Western Slope businesses gain information regarding the Affordable Care Act, CLUB 20 represents its Western Colorado members on many issues of common concern. CLUB 20’s ten policy committees have been tackling big issues in 2013 while advocating for policies to help communities, businesses and individuals continue to live and work on the West Slope.
