CMC Continues International Film Series Friday
When someone says foreign film what comes to mind? Maybe some awful French film with tiny subtitles at the bottom of the screen that you can’t read?
Well, it’s time to change that image and the best place to do that is this Friday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. up at Colorado Mountain College as they continue their 2013 Fall International Film Series. And the Academy Award Best Foreign (Spanish) Film nominee “Biutiful” – looks pretty intriguing. It’s the story of a dying man seeking to balance the books of a life that has included much wrongdoing. Here’s one online summation:
Best actor Oscar nominee Javier Bardem conveys infinite suffering as Uxbal, a compassionate criminal with ties to Barcelona’s human-trafficking underground. Riddled with cancer and hoping to settle his accounts in the few weeks he has left, he tries to provide for his young son and daughter, and for the latest shipment of Chinese laborers he has smuggled into the city’s black-market labor force.
The international film series will highlight other movies every Friday through November 22. Check the Leadville Today Calendar for future films: LINK.
The cost if $10 for one or all films! The movies are shown in Room 401 of the Climax Building, on the Colorado Mountain College Timberline Campus in Leadville.
