Do you have plans for New Year’s Eve? Well, it’s here, so you’d better get on it because some local celebrations are already SOLD OUT! Now isn’t that a good sign of things to come?
So check out Leadville Today’s Lead Vegas New Year’s Eve run down of who’s serving up a great dinner as your last meal of 2013, and who’s got the music and champagne to help you ring in 2014! One place is even offering a free, safe ride home when the party’s over. That’s a great option for those who don’t have a designated driver – a New Year’s Eve MUST! The neon lights in Lead Vegas are burning bright to bring in the New Year; get out there and have some fun!
The Eagles Lodge (812 Hemlock Street). The Eagles invites the Public to join them for a New Year’s Eve celebration. It begins with a steak dinner from 5 – 8 p.m. followed by an auction, door prizes. They will be offering a drink special of $2.50 for domestic beers and will also have an open juke box. And here’s a BIG New Year’s BONUS: They will give you a ride home anywhere within the City Limits – no drinking and driving, leave your car and get a lift from an Leadville Eagle. Tickets are $20 a couple and $12 for singles.
Callaway’s Restaurant at The Delaware Hotel (700 Harrison Ave). Looking for a great New Year’s Dinner before hitting the town? Try Callaway’s at the Historic Delaware Hotel. They are offering three entrée choices: Prime Rib, Shrimp Pasta, Chicken and have also added Salmon due to popular demand. There are two seatings at 6 & 8 p.m. and the dinner includes champagne and favors. Reservations can be secured at 719-486-1418.
The Grill Bar & Café (715 Elm Street). Since New Year’s Eve falls on a Tuesday this year, it’s a day that this popular eatery would normally be closed. But for New Years Eve The Grill WILL BE OPEN for dinner and drinks. So ring in 2014 the FIESTA way, starting at 4 p.m.
The Scarlet Tavern (326 Harrison Avenue). Here it comes! A Leadville Cherokee New Year’s Eve One-of-a-kind event. Join The Scarlet Tavern for this special engagement with local band legends: Leadville Cherokee. The band starts at 10 p.m. and the night will be a true 2014 extravaganza with a midnight champagne toast, balloon drop and some extra special effects prepared by the band.
Twin Lake Nordic Inn (6435 E State Highway 82, Twin Lakes). Head down south to Twin Lakes and ring in the New Year with some 40s style New Orleans Jazz, featuring Jimbino Vegan & the Jazz Cannibals. Folks can still join their live music and dancing starting at 9 p.m. with a $10 cover charge. However, their dinner service and hotel packages are sold out – great way to start the New Year! The Leadville Elks Lodge (123 W. 5th Street). Are you looking to ring in the New Year in a more bluesy kind of way? Well then, head on over to The Elks Lodge for the blues-rock renderings of Johnny Walker and the Pedestrians. These musicians are sure to get folks out on the dance floor, starting at 8 p.m. The Elks will be offering hors d’oeuvres and snacks as well. No cover charge – Elk members and guests are welcome.
The Manhattan Bar (618 Harrison Avenue). The neon light burns bright on the corner of 7th And Harrison in downtown Leadville at the locals’ watering hole, “The Hat.” Stop in to check out their drink specials; they will also have a midnight champagne toast.
Two Guns Distillery (401 Harrison Avenue). This will be the new whiskey joint’s first New Year’s Eve in The Cloud City, so no doubt it’ll be a memorable one! They plan on having a dance party with some of their tasty drink specials. Belly up to the bar!
