Leadville Hospital Receives $1 Million Grant
St. Vincent Hospital in Leadville received notification last week from the Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) that the medical facility had secured a one million dollar grant for improvements.
In a letter to St. Vincent Hospital CEO, Joyce Beck, DOLA Executive Director, Reeves Brown stated that the hospital’s request for one million dollars had been approved.
The grant will assist the hospital in replacing the heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) system. The new HVAC project will cost two million dollars. The additional funding will come from loans and hospital cash reserves.
“With a potential HVAC system failure no longer looming, the caring and positive work done at St. Vincent Hospital will only be amplified in the future,” stated Karen Rinehart, Director St. Vincent Hospital Foundation.
