Tree of Sharing Has New Sponsor for Holiday Season
The season of giving is rapidly approaching as is the Tree of Sharing (TOS) project for children in Lake County. Last year, donations from the community helped brighten the holidays for over 600 children with gifts, books, and warm clothing.
Tree of Sharing is now fiscally sponsored by Pikes Peak Community Foundation (PPCF). This is considered to be a win/win situation for the TOS committee as they able to benefit from PPCF’s valuable resources and also retain tax exempt status.
The Tree of Sharing project does not receive government funding, therefore the project’s success is dependent on the generosity of Lake County residents, businesses, and private organizations. we send your donation to their sorrows can begin the work. Checks may be written to PPCF Tree of Sharing and mailed to P.O. Box 838 Leadville, Colorado 80461.
For the past two seasons, the St. Vincent Hospital Foundation acted as the umbrella agency, according to a TOS flyer recently mailed to local donors. SVH Foundation stepped in at a time when the future for Tree of Sharing was uncertain, so kudos to them. And now the committee has a permanent sponsor with PPCF.
If you would like to volunteer at any level for Tree of Sharing, please contact them. They’re also running low on wrapping supplies this year, so if you would like to donate in that way, it would be greatly appreciated. Local Contact: Krisiti Galarza Tree of Sharing Chairperson, P.O.
