First in Pedal Power Winter Race Series Tomorrow
With the crack of the starting gun tomorrow, November 15 at 10 a.m., the Pedal Power Winter Race Series begins another season of adventure racing to benefit local charities in Lake and Eagle Counties.
Now in its 18th year, the first race in the series is the 10k XCountry/Trail Run, and will begin and end at Colorado Mountain College – Leadville, starting at 10 a.m. tomorrow. The course follows a blend of single-track, wooded cross-country trails and panoramic open stretches. Due to the recent snow, this race will officially be a snowshoe race, although race organizers never know if the first race will be a trail run or snowshoe race, depending on Mother Nature.
“We are so excited to have such an amazing venue for this race, which has gone from trail run to snowshoe race over the course of a few days,” said race director Bruce Kelly. “We may need to continue to schedule a November trail run every year to ensure adequate snowfall.”
The Pedal Power Winter Race Series is the oldest established competitive snowshoe race series in the region as well as the only completely non-profit event of its kind, with all proceeds from the popular race series benefiting local Lake & Eagle County charities.Let the Pedal Power Winter Race Series Begin!
