Super Hometown Solder Lines Up for The Patriots
Super Bowl XLIX – this Sunday, Feb. 1 – will be a showdown between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots. While there have been plenty of attention-grabbing headlines, the Leadville news is that there’s a hometown boy in the game.
Nate Solder, son of Peri & Ed Solder of Leadville is a tackle for the Patriots and has been seeing his fair share of the spotlight. Nate grew up in Leadville at the Mountain Hideaway Bed & Breakfast on W. 8th Street, which his parents still own. Nate and his brother John spent their elementary school years in Lake County. Later on, Nate transferred to Buena Vista High School where he honed his football skills, continuing on at CU-Boulder, and eventually drafted by the New England Patriots to play in the National Football League.
Good Luck in the BIG game, Nate. Your hometown will be cheering you on!

Live Music at The Scarlet Friday, Saturday in Leadville
This weekend marks the calendar flip-over from January to February; here’s what’s happening in Leadville.
The Scarlet will be hopping with live music both Friday and Saturday night with the Colorado-based Indie/Alternative tunes of Jack + Jill. Their music blends dark grungy male and rich female vocals with big chunky guitars, and semi-sweet electric violin. According to one online review, “the show you will see will take you on a musical, toe-tappin’, head banging, magical booty shaking journey of epic proportions.” Wow that’s some promise, so you’d better head on down to the corner of 4th and Harrison Ave either night at 10 p.m. and see it for yourself.
