Melanzana Named in Top 250 Made In Colorado
Melanzana Outdoor Clothing located on the corner of 8th and Harrison Avenue in downtown Leadville was named in the Colorado Business Magazine’s “Top 250 Made in Colorado” List.
According to the company’s website, Melanzana is a homegrown outdoor clothing company located high in the Rockies, in the historic mining town of Leadville Colorado. They are dedicated to designing and building high-performance clothing that is a little different from what you can find in the big outdoor stores.
Melanzana was nominated for the statewide business magazine’s list by Kim Rodriquez with the Leadville Workforce Center. More good news for Leadville. Here’s the link to the entire story:
Nordic Knockouts in the Dark: Winter Fun!
Competitors in the Nordic Knockout Harrison Sprints gathered under the Harrison Avenue lights on Friday, March 6 2015 to kick off Leadville’s annual downtown winter celebration. The conditions were set up nicely as Leadville had received consistent snow in the past week and a half, with skies clearing for the evening’s competition.

Many of the local high school Nordic skiers tipped up to the start line and fared quite well. Participants raced the main drag with great Nordic spirit, marking for many, the last race of the season. The competition was a double elimination with two skiers starting and the fastest racer advancing to the next round of competition. Thanks to Nordic Coach Karl Remsen for coordinating the competition.
Congratulations to the winners:
