NO FASTING? No Kidding! 9Health Fair News
NEWSFLASH . . . Based on the most current research findings, the 9Health Fair Medical Advisory Committee has determined that fasting is not require (optional) for blood screenings. Yes, that’s right, if starving yourself before the annual blood draw has been the major deterrent for you not taking charge of your health, then cross that excuse off your list and mark this on your calendar!
Leadville’s 9 Health Fair has been scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2015. The fair will be held at the Lake County Intermediate School from 7 a.m. – Noon.
There are some changes to the Leadville health fair which serves 400 -500 people every year.
This year’s Leadville 9Health Fair participants can expect the following health screenings this year: Colon Cancer Screening, Blood Pressure, Body Mass Index, Pulmonary Cardiac Risk Factor Screening, Ask a Provider, Spine Screening, Pharmacy Questions
Please take note that attendees should also bring last year’s 9Health Fair lab results with them in order to take full advantage of the fair’s assessment services available.
9Health Fair attendees may notice that some of the screening costs have increased by $5, the first increase in over 15 years. Attendees can pre-register at www.9HealthFair.org.
The fair is also looking for volunteers. So here’s your opportunity to show how much rural healthcare means to remote communities like Leadville and Lake County. It doesn’t take much time, or all day even. There are shorter volunteer shifts and many of them DO NOT involve medical knowledge not interaction (i.e. you won’t have to take someone’s blood!) If you are able to give some time to this worthy cause, please contact Volunteer Coordinator Connie Yant via email at email@example.com.
