Army Heroes from ’09 Crash To Be Honored For Service
On August 19, 2009 the peace and tranquility of Mount Massive in Colorado was shattered by the crash of a military Blackhawk helicopter.

A memorial crash honors the Army Heroes at the 2009 Mount Massive crash site.
With this crash came the untimely deaths of 4 highly decorated Army personnel. Those four men: CW4 Bob Johnson, SSG Chad Tucker, SSG Paul Jackson, and CW4 Terry Geer have been honored each year since the crash by military colleagues. friends, and family by hiking to the summit of Mount Massive.
On that fateful day in 2009, and for several days afterward, many individuals from Colorado and particularly the Leadville community gave of themselves to assist the military in this tragic recovery.
In appreciation to those Colorado residents, and the community, the 160th SOAR Division of the United States Army is extending an open invitation to the entire Leadville community to participate in this year’s memorial hike to be held this Friday, August 19.
