Music Welcomes Back Students, Entertains Locals
Tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 12 the Lake County High School Chamber Choir and Jazz Band will perform a Welcome Back Concert. With another round of winter gearing up to show itself, it’s the perfect time to plan on settling into your seat at the high school auditorium starting at 7 p.m. to listen to some wonderful music by Leadville students. The choir is under the conduction of Director of Choral and Theatre Activities Scott Carroll, and accompanied by pianist Donna Schaefer. The LCHS Cloud City Jazz Band will perform under the direction of Jonathan Cole.
Student Cyclists Recieve Awards, Pep Rally Saturday
Leadville Racing High School Mountain Bike Team members Cheyenne Mendoza, Cain Gibson and Brandon Hanson received their Colorado High School Cycling League’s Legacy Belt Buckle at the Nathrop Race on October 8. A legacy rider means they have competed in mountain bike racing for all 4 years of high school.
If you want to support the team as they head off to the State Championships in Eagle which is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 23 join them for this Saturday’s special Pep Rally.Head down to the Leadville Race Series offices at 222 Harrison Avenue at 6:30 p.m. on October 15.
The community is invited to come by, meet the team and encourage them as they head off to compete at state. Join the fun, celebrate their success of the season so far with some food and drinks with the team and Coaches Bruce and Stacy Kelly. See you there and good luck at State!
Pumpkin Patch Needs Volunteers for Annual Event
The annual Pumpkin Patch celebration will be held this year on Saturday, Oct. 22 in the 6th Street Gym. Now in its 16th year, the Pumpkin Patch has become a Leadville tradition, being passed down as readily as those Halloween costumes!
The Pumpkin Patch organizers are currently calling for volunteers to help with this family-friendly celebration of the season! Come and do a long shift yourself, or grab a friend and help out for a few hours for set-up or clean-up!
