Guess Who’s Coming to Town? Santa in The Cloud City
The snow has finally arrived with enough enthusiasm to put everyone in the Christmas spirit, so here’s some Yuletide news you can use if you live in or are visiting Leadville Today!
Leadville’s Parade of Lights returns this Friday, Dec. 2. Making a special appearance in the Cloud City festivities will be Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus who will be flying into the Lake County Airport to join the procession down historic Harrison Avenue.
The parade begins at 6 p.m., starting in front of the Mining Museum and ending at the courthouse where Mr. and Mrs. Claus will visit with the children, no doubt bestowing sweets and taking kind requests.
There will be FREE Cookies and hot cocoa for the kiddos!
There is still room for more floats, so send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to let the chamber know that you’re participating. Then deck out your car/truck/trailer, and show Leadville your holiday spirit! Awards will be bestowed to the best floats that display outstanding creativity, enthusiasm, and representation of the theme.
Then bundle up the kids and follow the sound of silver bells down on historic Harrison Ave. this Friday at 6 p.m!

Twin Lakes Welcomes “This Wonderful Life” for Holiday Theater
Mark the calendar for this wonderful holiday experience in the southern part of lake County in the quaint village of Twin Lakes.
“This Wonderful Life” the one-man show starring Jim Leaming will be presented at the Twin Lakes Schoolhouse (231 Lang) on December 30 and 31 from 7 – 8:30 pm. Relive the magical and heartwarming story of George Bailey and the effect his life has on others around him. Jim brings to life George Bailey, Clarence, Mr. Potter, Mary and others from the community of Bedford Falls.
Following the show, the bar at the Twin Lakes Inn will be open for approximately two hours. Cost: $20 per ticket ($15 for the cost of the show and the other $5 from each ticket is being donated to Friends of Twin Lakes).
How to get tickets: Send an email to email@example.com for an initial ticket reservation. Please indicate your preferred date and, in the event that date is sold out, if you would accept the other night. (Space is limited to 48 seats per night due to occupancy restrictions).
Winter Festival on Thursday, Legacy Party Dec. 15
This Thursday, Dec. 1, The Center in Leadville will host their annual Winter Festival celebration from 5:30 – 7 p.m. The event will be held in the Pitts Elementary School and provides an opportunity for students to celebrate the season with teachers, staff and their parents.
Then be sure to mark the calendar for the Annual Christmas Party at The Center, hosted by the Leadville Legacy Foundation on December 15. The Christmas season is underway in Leadville Today!
