Peoples Bank Donates to Leadville Community
Even in the midst of all the construction chaos, Peoples Bank of Leadville is still thinking of others in the community. As part of the bank’s 40th Anniversary celebration, the local financial institution has donated warm winter clothing to students at West Park Elementary School.

That’s what the bank is doing outside its walls, so what are they doing inside and when will they be done at 400 Harrison Avenue? A few upgrades are underway. First, it was the parking lot which needed some draining issues addressed to eliminate the icy build up and make sure that rain and snow was melting in the right direction.

There’s no formal word from Peoples Bank officials as to when the restoration work will be done to the building but they are open during regular busienss hours during the construction.
As for the rest of the boards covering up the south side entrance and the drive-thru being closed (!) that work deals with the new roof which they installed a couple years back. It seems that the water damage was more extensive than originally thought, caused from the old leaky roof. While that work isn’t interfering, per se, with banking operations, there is no set timeline on when the work will be complete as the assessment and repair is ongoing for now.
Of course, for most Leadvillites what’s most important is that the time and temperature on the bank’s clock is correct (it was off an hour last week and sent everyone into a Leadville time-delay!) Peoples Bank customers should also note that the bank will be closed December 24 – 26 for the Christmas holiday, re-opening on Tuesday, Dec. 27. Of course their phone number hasn’t changed should you have any questions: 719-486-0420 and you can always bank online!
