Once the Sun Goes Down: Lead Vegas Shines Bright
Fresh snow, then blue skies & sunshine, followed by more fresh snow – there’s no doubt about it, it’s Springtime in the Rockies! And with hundreds of visitors in town for #SpringBreak2017, once the sun sets on daytime fun, thoughts turn to where to grab some grub and then catch some music, maybe hit the dance floor.
Here’s the Lead Vegas report about what’s happening in Leadville Today. And remember, if you’re on social media, be sure to give LT a nudge about your event and share you’re pictures when out having a good time in #LeadVegas.
Celebrate the Day of Fools at The Scarlet Bar with Low Side Demand. Billed as “rafting influenced whitewater tunes that get you wetter than the Royal Gorge,” the band promises to “make enough noise to get that 2017 snow flowing downstream!” That might mean a little more jam time than usual when you’re at 10,200 feet.
Come, see how turned up they can get that dance floor and celebrate the Fool’s Day on Saturday, Apr. 1. The show starts at 10 p.m. and featuries The Tye Dudley Dinner Band.
It’s great to see the local LIVE music scene stay alive, so come support those efforts at the corner of 4th Street & historic Harrison Avenue.
However, for those more inclined to sing their own tune, there will be an opportunity to do that down at Leadville’s Historic Pastime Bar & Cafe, in the old Red Light District at 120 W. 2nd Street.
Tomorrow is Karaoke Kamikaze Friday night with DJ Girl hosting the sing-a-long starting at 9 p.m.
Sing your own songs or if you’ve got the guts sign up for kamikaze karaoke and sing the song that you randomly pick out of a jar. Show everyone in Leadville how brave you are and PICK! PICK! PICK! And if you’re looking for a little courage, Kamikaze shots will be $3 all night.
You’ll find a lively TGIF Happy Hour down at The Grill on Elm Street. Daily offerings include Happy Hour Select beers for $2, wine $4 , well drinks $3, tostadas $3, tacos 2.50, queso dip $4, quesadillas $3. You can find them at 715 Elm Street or online at The Grill website. Ole!
If you’re plans are hitting the slopes this Saturday, then be sure to catch some live music out on the hill afterward. Ski Cooper will be celebrating spring with some live music on the patio!
On Saturday, Apr. 1, the group A~Mac DZ will present their own brand of originally-positive laid-back Folk, Reggae, Hip-Hop & Improv Sounds. Come and join the fun for a great day of Spring riding followed by the unleashed, full-sounds of this Denver band out on Katie’s deck!
A~Mac DZ was just featured with the Gift of Music Tour, opened for Rusted Root, and continues to fill the houses of Cervantes and the Gothic. If you missed their acoustic debut in December, don’t miss this Spring’s show!!!
If your spring break plans include hanging around into next week or you’re a local lookign for something different to do, then be sure to catch next Tuesday’s Geeks Who Drink at Periodic Brewing, starting at 6 p.m. You bring the brains, we’ll bring the beer. Geeks Who Drink is a Denver-based company that holds weekly trivia matches across the country.
